The Life Link has many different types of programs. Basically, our services center around three themes: Housing, Treatment, and Community Support Services.
We started as an emergency shelter for homeless families in Nov of 1987. We also found out that there were many other needs to be addressed, like substance abuse and mental health problems. Basically since we opened, we have been providing services around these three areas: Homelessness, Mental Health, and Substance Addiction. In our agency, a person may have just one of the three or any combination.
The first 10 min or so of our history is here and the second 10 min is here. I believe you will be touched in the way our organization has grown from a few women volunteers who had no clue of what they were getting themselves into, to a staff of now approximately 50 with city, state, and national recognition for their achievements.
